Air France plans 1,100
Air France outlined plans for a further 1,100
voluntary redundancies, comprising 350
flight deck and 750 cabin crew positions,
adding to 8,031 staff who have already left
The French carrier’s management met with
unions March 6 to discuss the cuts, which
form part of Air France’s Transform 2015 plan.
An Air France spokeswoman confirmed the
numbers and said crew members will have
until the end of the summer season to apply
for redundancy. The cuts will be implemented
between now and March 2015.
She added that the voluntary redundancies are “simply following the steps planned
under Transform 2015.” Air France has already
committed to no mandatory redundancies in

plan, 8,031 Air France ground staff, pilots and
cabin crew have taken voluntary redundancy,
the spokeswoman said. In addition to the 1,100 flight deck and
cabin crew layoffs just announced, Air France is negotiating
another 2,800 departures among its ground staff.
If all of the proposals are agreed, 11,931 staff will have left
Air France on a voluntary basis since the start of the Transform
2015 restructuring plan.
